A public address system was installed for the eastern tube of the so-called apron tunnel at Frankfurt Airport in the event of an alarm. The system consists of eight tunnel horns of the type Ambient Systems ABT-TNL 100.<\/p>\n\n

Together with the client, the plant was commissioned and measured in November 2020.<\/p>\n\n

The achievable useful levels in the tunnel are on average LAeq<\/sub> = 100dB.<\/p>\n\n

Speech intelligibility without background noise averages STI = 0.52, with background noise of LAeq<\/sub> = 84 dB still STI = 0.45.<\/p>\n\n
